Enhancing Clinical Microbiology Leadership

We’re excited to announce the addition of Matthew Faron, Ph.D. to our CRO Services team. Dr. Faron brings a robust background in clinical microbiology and a wealth of experience in leading and conducting FDA clinical trials.

His distinguished career is highlighted by his significant contributions to the field of clinical microbiology. Over the course of his professional journey, he has served as Principal Investigator and study coordinator in more than 100 FDA clinical trials. He is also a well-published author and key contributor to over 100 publications, posters, and books, including the Manual of Clinical Microbiology and the Clinical Microbiology Procedures Handbook.

Dr. Faron has presented at both national and international conferences on critical topics such as Automation, rAST, molecular testing, and early detection of sepsis risk through the host immune response. He is also an active board member of the South Central Association of Clinical Microbiology where he aids in the development of the spring program to bring clinical education to laboratorian staff.

He led the successful growth of a clinical research group, tripling its team and achieving a 20x increase in revenue. Dr. Faron’s experience working in BSL-3 labs also adds a unique dimension to his expertise, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of biosafety and laboratory protocols.

Dr. Faron’s educational journey includes a B.A. in Biochemistry from Monmouth College, a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Iowa, and Postdoctoral Training in Clinical Microbiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
